About us
We’re a pretty regular family from Berlin: two designers, two daughters (6 and 10), one kitchen table. That table is where every game on this blog gets played and judged.
Who’s who
- Dad is a designer and the board game nerd of the house. He picks the games, reads the rules and writes the reviews. When an article says “I”, that’s him.
- Mom is a designer too and runs The Game Goods on Etsy: shirts, mugs and other goods for board gamers and D&D fans.
- Our daughters (6 and 10) play with us. Their age gap is the reason we look so closely at which games work for a mixed table. We never use their names or show their faces.
Family, to us
Family is anyone who shares a home and a life. Rainbow families, single parents, blended families, couples, roommates, grandparents raising grandkids, chosen family. If you share a table, you’re in, and you’re welcome here.

- Guides by situation: date night, family game night, quick games before bedtime, the big Sunday afternoon.
- News and “On Our Radar”: upcoming games we haven’t played yet, clearly marked as such.
How we work
- We only write about play experience we actually had. If we haven’t tried something, we say so.
- No made-up quotes, no invented anecdotes.
- If a game was a free review copy or an article contains affiliate links, we say so right in that article.
